Julianna Lucio-Hernandez, Photo Journalist

Hello! My name is Julianna Lucio-Hernandez and I am a senior at Santiago High School. I am 17 years old but I’ve had a passion for writing ever since I can remember. I am President of the Journalism Club and a member of Santiago’s Purple Press. I am excited to continue contributing accurate and entertaining stories for Santiago’s Cavaliers.

I was born in Anaheim, California in January of 2006 to a wonderful mother, headstrong father, and lively siblings. I grew up in a home filled with delicious food, good music, nurturing books, and most important, people that showed me what unconditional love was. I developed an appreciation for the arts very early on in my life. I knew from an early age that I wanted to write. While I didn’t exactly know what genre or style I would be writing in, I knew that my heart desired to put words on paper to be shared with the world. It wasn’t until I entered high school that I was introduced to the world of journalism. I became fascinated with the field and decided that I wanted to pursue a career as a music journalist as it combines the two things I am most passionate about: music and writing. I plan to pursue higher education and major in Broadcast Journalism to further develop my craft. I also plan to get involved in college radio to prepare myself for the radio show I want to host in which I share my favorite music and music-related news with the world further into my career. I wait with bated breath to see what the future holds for me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know me. I look forward to writing for our school another year and being a Cavalier alongside all of you. Here’s to an amazing 2023-2024 school year!
